/in News/by Chris NealeCongratulations to all entrants
What a fantastic display of Scarecrows! The Hartlebury Parish residents certainly caught the spirit of the very first Parish Scarecrow competition and produced some very imaginative & creative designs. Twenty-nine entrants in total and, with the weather being kind, it made a lovely summer walkabout to view them all. The weekend was well supported with lots of folks walking around spotting the scarecrows and then coming to the Parish Hall on Sunday to vote for their favourite ones. The votes have been counted and we can announce the following winners.
So, (drum roll)…..
The winner: No: 28 Maundy the Mechanic (Ashdene Close)
Second prize: No: 24 Ski-crow (Waresley Road)
Third prize: No: 13 Farmer & his sheep (displayed at The Allotment Site)
Thank you to all who participated in making
it such a success!

Police Crime Reference no: 22/52732/24
Between 9.30pm on Wednesday 12/6/24 and 10am on Thursday 13/6/24 intruder(s) or person(s) unknown gained access to the Parish Hall patio by moving the Heras fencing.
The perpetrator(s) removed and then replaced some of the newly laid brickwork to the pillars and wall at the pétanque end of the patio.
It was discovered by the building contractor when he arrived on site on Thursday morning 13/6/24.
This has resulted in 4 to 5 courses of brickwork having to be taken down and replaced, as the integrity of the bonding between the bricks had been compromised, which has meant extra costs in labour and materials.

Samuel Manninge Charity News
/in News/by Chris Neale2024 Grants Available
In 1633, prosperous Hartlebury resident Samuel Manninge died, bequeathing in his will, ‘the rents of a close to be distributed amongst the poorest people and poor householders of the parish of Hartlebury’
Every year since, the charity’s trustees have made grants to parish residents in need, paid from the interest earned on the original investment.
The trustees of the Samuel Manninge charity hope to be able to offer a helping hand to residents of the parish of Hartlebury again this year, continuing the philanthropic work that was started 391 years ago by the Manninge will bequest.
Also, the charity accepts donations. If anyone wishes to donate – for example one kind individual donated £300 for school uniform purchases – they should make contact by emailing: clerk.manningscharity@gmail.com
